Hello + Welcome to EnrichEd!
An old friend once suggested that when pursuing a purpose, one must ask the question: ‘what would you happily do if money weren’t an issue?‘ For me, the answer is easy. I would write. And so, here we are.
This blog is a place where I will pour out my heart each week - and perhaps where you would too. Whether you are a parent / parent-to-be or a childcare and education professional, we all share one thing in common - our passion for all things early childhood education.
EnrichEd™ Parenting - I am first and foremost a mother. And even though my pregnancy and birthing journey was a little more than a decade ago, there are many lessons that I cannot wait to share: from prenatal hopes, to postnatal depression and anxiety; from diastases (recti) to mastitis; co-sleeping, toileting, teething, weaning, and surviving your first hospital rodeo (yes it will happen, sorry; but you’ll get through it).
EnrichEd™ Teaching - This is a role I have held for the longest. It follows that this is the part I have the most content to build on. I have recently embarked on a journey of rediscovering my passion for teaching and it gives me butterflies just thinking about all the amazing learning I am about to document through this blog: outdoor/nature education in ECE, nature-inspired play resources, sustainability in ECE, separation anxiety, parent-teacher relationships, politics in education, the list goes on!
EnrichEd™ Leadership - I have been blessed by so many amazing leaders in my own life - both personally and professionally. None of them perfect ; but from all of them I took something valuable. I am passionate about ideas such as character development, personality profiles, workplace culture, work-life balance, resilience and sustainable approaches to leadership and business.
Above all, this blog is for YOU! I would love to hear about you - where you are (geographically and figuratively). We can really shape this blog together into something that can be helpful to many.
